Biography
Dr.Howard Federoff has joined University of California, Irvine as Vice-Chancellor for Health Affairs and Dean of the Shool of Medicine.Federoff comes to UC Irvine from Georgetown University,where he served as Excecutive Vice president for Health services and Excecutive dean of the school of Medicine.Dr. Federoff received his MS, phD and MD degrees from the Albert Einstein college of Medicine,and did his Internship, Residency and Fellowships at Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School.
Research Interest
Dr.Federoff's research intrests include Gene theraphy and neurodegenerative diseases such as Prakinson's, Alzhiemer's and Prion diseases; he holds number of medical patents with number of other patents pending.His Research has received support from the National Science Foundation,National Institutes of Health, and the U.S department of Defence.He is widely published and has served as a reviewer for many Journals including Brain and Mind,Experimental neurology and Gene theraphy.
