Neurocognitive disorders are characterized by decline from an attained level of cognitive functioning mainly when physical changes can be seen to have occurred in brain, such as after neurological and mental illness, drug use, or brain injury. Neurocognitive disorders involve impairments in cognitive abilities such as memory, problem solving, and perception. Neurocognitive disorders (NCDs) are a category of conditions that include dementia, amnesia, Mild cognitive impairment, Attention deficit hyperactive disorder.
